It is our hope that you will choose to remain a lifelong Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. If you choose, however, to deactivate your membership you must remove board certification affiliation from all public communications including your website and printed materials. In addition, your board certification status will be removed from the listing on the ABO and AAO websites. We will also be required to advise of your status to all third party verification requests on your behalf.
If, in the future, you choose to reactivate your Board Certification, you will be required to pay a reinstatement fee as well as the current year's annual fee. If your Board Certification was deactivated because you did not complete your Certification Renewal requirements, or if your Certification expired wile you were deactivated, you will also be required to complete your Certification Renewal exam before your status is reinstated.
