Dr. Paul M. Kasrovi Elected to the Board of Directors of the American Board of Orthodontics

Paul M. Kasrovi, D.D.S., M.S. of Berkeley, Cal., has been elected to the Board of Directors of the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO). The election took place during the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) House of Delegates meeting in conjunction with the 2025 AAO Annual Session April 25-27 in Philadelphia, PA.

The ABO Directors are responsible for establishing policy concerning the board certification of specialists in orthodontics. Each ABO Director represents one of the eight constituent organizations of the AAO and serves an eight-year term, which culminates in the position of President. Dr. Kasrovi, representing the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists (PCSO), will become President of the ABO in the 2033-2034 year.

Dr. Kasrovi has been in private practice for 30 years and serves as Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Dentistry, division of Orthodontics, where he has been teaching since 1995. He is also an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Orthodontics at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. Dr. Kasrovi has served as a Clinical Supervisor at the orthodontic teaching clinic at La Clinica de La Raza in Oakland.

Dr. Kasrovi completed his doctoral and postdoctoral education at UCSF, receiving both a specialty certificate in Orthodontics and a Master of Science degree in Oral Biology. Before making a career change to dentistry, he had received a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from USC and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and worked as a systems engineer for AT&T Bell Laboratories.

Dr. Kasrovi became a Diplomate of ABO in 2007, has represented UCSF on the ABO Educators Symposium since 2015. He has also been an ABO Examiner since 2017 and is a university advocate for ABO.

Dr. Kasrovi is Past President of the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists (PSCO), Past President and member of the California Association of Orthodontists, Director and member of the Northern CA. Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists, and Past President and member of the Berkeley Dental Society. In 2022, he received the Distinguished Service Award from the California Association of Orthodontists, and in 2023 received the Award of Merit from the PCSO.

Dr. Kasrovi is a published author of articles in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, the Journal of the California Dental Association, and the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists Bulletin. He has had his research presented at the meetings of the International Association of Dental Research and the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research. He has lectured on orthodontic care locally, nationally, and internationally.
